I posted this in another group but I think it unlikely that anyone will see it there, for reasons outlined below.

I think the issue with this site is the lack of content to engage with – most of Iain’s videos and conversations are freely available on YouTube. This is fine, but if you’re not logged in to view anything it isn’t going to encourage discussion or questioning. What we’re left with is ultimately our own musings. There’s nothing inherently wrong with this but stimulating the varied groups is going to be difficult.

I took a year’s break from subscription, and upon returning almost nothing has changed, except more sub-groups where few are engaging. I want to pay for the site because I believe that in this world, Iain’s efforts are desperately needed; I also understand that it’s a small online community and probably a small number of good, well-intentioned people responsible for running the site. But it is not conducive to “getting things going” – at times it is absolutely glacial at loading; content is not easy to navigate nor is it updated very regularly. It needs more than just the community to spur things into a canter.

Welcome Diana. As an incredibly slow reader, I am currently still savouring every page of The Matter With Things. It’s helped me to shift my perspective on whatever this reality is, and to experience the world with fresh senses and a new understanding. Well worth a long and thoughtful read!

Bach’s Cello Suites, Nos. 1-6, as performed by Jean-Guihen Queyras.

I also enjoy a lot of electronic music, particularly the grand, almost cinematic tracks you might find in a space opera. Some speak of hope, others of vast unknowns.
