    Dear all

It was lovely seeing two new faces joining the conversation.

A heartfelt thank you for all participating in the conversation šŸ™šŸ»

We started out one hour early due to the winter time changes in Europe vs US and ended our conversation roughly on time nevertheless.

The conversation started out with generational / collective trauma and how it is passed on, colonialism vs. indigenous peoples, feudal and capitalist systems / business models and totalitarian governance vs republican and democratic constitutions. This leaning on to the topics that last Saturday were shared.

We figured that ā€˜size mattersā€™ in the sense of the amount of people able to participate in ā€˜demosā€™ democracy (coherently) as well as the dangers of propaganda and ā€˜attention grabbingā€™ vs. ability to think.

To conclude: Of essence is our relationship (probably with ourselves) and how we relate to one another as well as to the non-human world. We sensed how challenging it can sometimes be to stay in relation – and how important survival (ie in colonialism and its re-actions) vs. feeling safe ( in relating by listening to, being heard, being seen) is.

Interestingly an article came to be written today morning ( you know, I love writing) with the title:

ā€œLived healthy governance = the fundament for ‘strategy’. Here’s what we forgot & urgently need to re-memberā€

I sense – in addition to Iainsā€™ invitation to look for the truth, the beauty and the good, the a.m. article offers an additional approach about how we can create some common ground to ā€˜live byā€™. Should you like to read it, please do let me know. I am happy to share the link.

We see each other again on the 6th of December 2024 at 6 pm CET.

    Dear @Forest @chrys @janschloesser @bobeng

thank you šŸ™ to you all for such a lively conversation on a First Friday at 6 pm CET [Amsterdam].

For the ones joining from ‘western-US’ [ie SFO/LA] it was 9 am in the morning

and for the ones joining from ‘eastern-US’ [ie NY] it was 12/noon.

Thank you for showing up, joining and creating a lively conversation. šŸ™šŸ»

@Forest before you logged off on zoom, you made a sound, that I interpret and form the assumption that you might have wanted to copy & paste the links we shared in our chat. In case this assumption is ‘true’, I am sharing the links here: [note: you might need to copy & paste them to make them show up in ‘google’.]

Fascinating for me was how the ‘dialogue unfolded’ [David Bohm].

We started out with @Forest mentioning one of the art-restoration projects in a Russian church, working on ‘Ikons’ and how she experienced being there. @Forest, would you like to share the link of your website where some pictures of your work are displayed?

@chrys shared how to intentionally switch perceptions, i.e. covering ones left/right eye and observe how things change. For more, please see the 3rd link above. I shared in relation to my work that I experienced how one’s intention can/does determine what we are able ‘see’/perceive [and how we label/name ‘it’]

@janschloesser was sharing his work [his publication is the first link above] and how he was wondering ‘how to apply Iains’ work’. From there the conversation led to @bobeng sharing about the tibetan retreat he attended and how challenging it is to ‘work’ and ‘apply Iains’ work. We touched on the label ‘complicity’ and @Chrys rounded off with the inquiry into Jan’s work, because he was the first time ‘here’.

Jan’s comment: “I didn’t know what to expect. But this exceeded my expectations.” made me smile. Thank you for that, Jan.

@bobeng created a Whatsapp group that can serve us for example to have the day/time as well as the new zoom-link ready or ‘handy’.

@pbarus lovely that you were travelling (I hope all went well and you enjoyed that) and that you loged in on the 4th of July, the US-Independence day.

Just in case for others to make a note in their calendars too [in case they would love to attend in the future also – however this is no obligation, only an invitation to join ] here are our upcoming First Fridays:

Indeed Christina, this resonates a lot with what Iain says that ‘we perceive outside of us’ – not ‘merely with our bains’ – and I can confirm that this is an entire different way of perceiving. Thank you for sharing šŸ™šŸ»

    Dear Christina

Thank you very much for sharing this.

Goosebumps gave me when she said:

    ā€ž ā€¦ hope ā€¦ our ancestors did it ā€¦ā€œ

( living in harmony with mother earth, protecting / providing / creating more habitat for all life, because we are a keystone species whose purpose is taking care of earth, we are stewards, for generations to come )

ā€žā€¦ we can do it againā€¦ā€œ

    Thank you šŸ™šŸ»

I wish you good weeks and look forward to seeing you (all) again . šŸ€

    Dear Peter

Lovely that you respond. Thank you!

I hope you had a good time travelling and enjoyed the change in scenery.

I am sorry it didn’t work out this time. I have added the days in the previous post as well as the new zoom link again. This new zoom link is the one working – the old one isn’t working anymore, because I had to open up a new zoom-account [to say it in a ‘nutshell’].

I wish you a lovely month in Vermont – or lovely travels. See you!

    Dear Bob

It was lovely to read your post. Indeed, it seems to be close to where you live, but 95 miles, can be a distance – and it needs time to get there.

You mentioned ‘coming into being’. Two days ago I was watching the latest conversation with Iain on uTube – in which he mentioned that there is a “… electromagnetic field, a field that brings / pulls things into being…” This is very much in synchronicity with that what you wrote in your post. Lovely.

By the way – today is the 1st Friday of the month and we will meet on zoom at 6 pm CET [Amsterdam time] our zoom-link is: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81776254730?pwd=6D0ET12JZja2pHG6xJlHuMBRbBgbv3.1

The zoom link, I will post it in the ‘general section’ again, to ensure that the ones who love to be there, can.

Bob, I wish you a lovely morning and look forward to seeing you later.

@chrys I hope you can make it too.

    Manuela

When I try to do the 4 exercises, I perceive it as like ā€˜putting on glasses / a filter / a focusā€™ – depending on its ā€˜opennessā€™ ie ā€˜just listenā€™, a variety of levels can unfold, like listening to my body, my heartbeat, how ot feels, listening to what I am thinking (now typing) – listening to the ambient noise, ie a pet snoring, an ambulance go by, ā€˜just listenā€™ – the washing machine turning, gushing water, ā€¦ fascinating exercises.

Cristina, what did you ā€˜hearā€™ when you ā€˜just listenedā€™?

I can imagine hearing the seagulls calling for each other or for treats or for food šŸŖæ( = emoj goose – I know its not a seagull, but it is sharing the same colours of the feather – white reflecting, whereas black would absorbā€¦)

I love the 12 theses of attention, thank you for sharing Christina.

One phrase that caught my eye was ā€˜attention entrappedā€™ – this lead to the thought of ā€˜humans becoming more and more (automatically) tied to algorithms/ triggers – due to the dopamine release such an interaction provides us with and therefore one could get addicted to ā€˜loads of dopamineā€™ and therefore as Iain said ā€œcallus it overā€ and even more is needed – a vicious cycle that ā€˜entrapsā€™ the ince free to roam attention (seeking that what needed / wanted to be found in the natural world? – I wonder) ..

I hope to see you again on Friday, next, the 5th of July – and continue our conversation.

    Thank you, Christina. šŸ™šŸ»
