Quick update on this: I’m working with the BuddyBoss developers to get this fixed properly.
I’ve fixed this temporarily on the McGilchrist website, but will need to apply the fix after every software update.
I’ll report updates as I progress 👍

I understand what you mean and I agree it would make sense to allow editing private messages.
I’ll report this to the theme/plugin developers and hope they agree too!

Hi all,
The “Subscribe” button signs you up to receive notifications if a new post has been added to the discussion.
You can either:
– Subscribe to individual discussions using the button within a discussion
– Subscribe to ALL discussions in the group by clicking the button in the discussion overview.I hope this clears things up.

Regarding the blocks you’re experiencing when typing a message, this is due to the fact that a draft gets saved periodically, every 20s. During that save process the input is blocked. Of course this shouldn’t happen!
I’ve reported this a few days ago and have yet to hear from the development team directly, as the frontline support person wasn’t able to reproduce it. I know it’s a bug, because I can reproduce it on various sites and you’re confirming this issue too.
For now, I’ve fixed it here temporarily so you shouldn’t have that blocking any more.
Absolutely feel free to DM me directly if you want, but I’d encourage you to post issues in this forum, so others can see it too and share their thoughts / experiences. I get notifications and check in regularly.

I’ve been in touch with their development team and have submitted this as a feature request.
Let’s cross fingers and hope that this is of importance to others too, to hopefully get it implemented soon.

Hi John,
Great to hear!
Regarding the text input, it gets saved periodically in the background which blocks the input while that happens.
I’ll see if there is a way to prevent the hiccuping and speed this up.
