These are excellent questions Whit, thanks. In terms of runaway conditions, you certainly see a decided “stuckness” in people diagnosed with psychosis. As you will be no doubt aware, Iain refers often to the RH deficits seen in this group. They will present to services, often for decades, with the same ideas or slightly evolved variants of them.
So, rather than constantly evolving (which is what I would imagine runaway conditions would result in), you see the polar opposite. Interesting.
Of course, I think you may be hinting at ideas around developing interventions or upon reflective practice?
I think there is a lot to be learned from this and for the interplay between the two hemispheres and their respective biases.
